Now all we need is sunshine… Alvarinho 9% Dócil might just be our favourite lunchtime white, and it's a perfect partner to spicy food. Fermented to an afternoon-drinking-friendly 9% ABV, this exciting new wine from Soalheiro displays all the zesty citrus, refreshing acidity, frosty herbs and tropical fruit flavours that Alvarinho (known as Albariño across the border in Spain) is famous for. But that lower alcohol level also preserves a gorgeous touch of sweetness, which is what makes it so good for pairing with fiery chilli heat. We recommend this for adventurous fans of Riesling Feinherb from the Mosel Valley. Established in 1974, Quinta de Soalheiro was a pioneer of the Alvarinho grape in Minho's sub-region Melgaço, the northernmost point of Portugal.
