商品描述

There's something strange about this wine. The bottle looks oddly diminutive next to its neighbours on the shelf but don't let this fool you; the power packed into it is immense. Fatalone is an under-the-radar blockbuster and our absolute go-to for pizza and tomato-based pasta. This Gioia del Colle Primitivo only looks mini because the eco-friendly producer uses lightweight bottles. And Fatalone don't stop there; they're certified organic, they don't irrigate, and they use only their own sustainably grown grapes, indigenous yeast, renewable energy from solar panels and very little sulphur. We've never known a red that's so green. This quirky little family-run winery, which can trace its winemaking history back to the late 19th Century, also plays music to its wines as they mature. So this Primitivo is initially aged for six months in stainless steel, it then spends a further six in oak casks from Eastern Europe while being played soft classical music interspersed with the sounds of nature. They believe that these soft vibrations help the wine to breath and the good bacteria to do their thing. The wine is then bottled without filtering or fining - making it vegan friendly - before being allowed to relax for another six months. When you pull the cork on this rustic little ripper, you'll discover black cherry, pipe tobacco, plum crumble, brambles, toasted nuts, balsamic, black olives and wild strawberries. It's almost as if they've trapped all the sunshine, joy and relaxed speed of life in Puglia in this one bottle.£2.4 per 100.00ml
