起點現場 / 大自然是最棒的靈感 Vanessa Barragão 海底樂園在初衣食午編織中

生活周遭的大自然常常是藝術加發想創意的靈感來源，幾乎每個人都喜歡大海的遼闊，但關於海底下的景觀大家又知道多少。這次初衣食午邀請到葡萄牙編織藝術家 Vanessa Barragão 帶著她的海底世界來台，之前曾在網路看到 Vanessa 的作品，這次首次近距離觸摸她的創作，作品實際比想像中的還要立體，了解背後的創作理念，更加佩服 Vanessa 透過藝術創作宣揚心中理念。這回也特別為初衣食午打造繽紛的《活珊瑚》以粉彩色呈現柔嫩的海草、瑰麗的珊瑚礁，透過針織與各式織法，創造豐饒的海洋景色。

Vanessa 在現場拿起剪刀一邊梳理著紗線，一邊修剪，原本雜亂的紗線瞬間變成彷彿珊瑚在礁岩上的樣貌。

「What we take, how and what we make, what we waste, is in fact a question of ethics.」

從小在海邊長大的 Vanessa，海洋成為他源源不絕得創作靈感來源，然而不斷升高的海水溫度、工業污染等，正一步步威脅她熱愛的海洋，因此她希望透過作品喚醒大家對海洋生態的重視。因為一次與家人到牙買加潛水，見識到珊瑚的美麗，從此珊瑚成為 Vanessa 作品中最常出現的圖案。Vanessa 大多使用再生原料及工廠廢棄的紗線，以地毯繡、毛氈、鉤針、編織、流蘇花邊等手工藝技法，將海底的樣貌詮釋得栩栩如生。

初次看到《滿月》能感受到一股安靜又和平的感覺，透過不同織法表達出月球表面坑巴，對於藝術家來說在地球如同月球班靜謐的地方就是海洋了。
