Atkinsons' fragrance opens with a sprinkling of fresh and spicy pink pepper, which gives way to a heart of rich, floral ylang-ylang, sweet, nectarous peach and intoxicatingly white floral gardenia before a dry down of Indonesian patchouli, warm amber and soft and alluring sandalwood adds an opulent, sensual flourish to this unisex fragrance. Top note is Pink Pepper. Heart notes are Yang-ylang, Peach, Gardenia. Base notes are Indonesian Patchouli, Amber, Sandalwood.   Why it’s Escentual: Created by master perfumer Amandine Clerc-Marie, The Joss Flower by Atkinsons is an exclusive edition created to celebrate 200 years of London's Burlington Arcade, which first opened on 20 March 1819. This beautiful vintage location is currently home to Atkinsons' flagship store; and the scent is as opulent and aristocratic as you'd hope it to be. It pays homage to the politician who commissioned the building of the arcade, Lord George Cavendish, who wanted the arcade to give employment to women, although only six of the original leaseholders were female, so even male milliners and corset-makers were referred to as 'Madame'. We love how this scent celebrates the rich history of Atkinsons; even the box tells the story of the brand as you peel back the exterior to reveal the fragrance and Atkinsons' heritage. You're informed that they were the official perfumer to the British Royal Court for almost 200 years, with this specific scent recapturing the original craftsmanship and artisan heritage created by brand founder, James Atkinsons. And the fragrance is as special as you'd imagine.
